The marital split of previous California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and broadcast reporter Maria Shriver took a shocking latest twist Tuesday with a Los Angeles Times report that the pair separated after Shriver was informed that her husband and a longtime feminine member of their domestic staff had a kid together more than a decade before.

According to the Times, the 25-year wedding hit the rocks former this year, when Shriver moved out of the couple's Brentwood mansion after Schwarzenegger definite the paternity. The worker had retired in January after 20 years with the family unit, says the paper.
In a report to the newspaper, Schwarzenegger, 63, said Monday: "After leaving the governor's office I told my wife about this event, which occurred over a decade ago. I appreciate and deserve the manner of anger and disappointment among my friends and relatives. There are no excuses and I take full responsibility for the hurt I have caused. I have apologized to Maria, my kids and my family. I am really sorry."
He further: "I ask that the media honor my wife and kids through this really difficult time," the statement concluded. "While I justify your attention and criticism, my family does not. "
Shriver's spokesman supposed the former first lady, 55, had no comment.
